Below are testimonial from cyclists who have ridden the New York & Vermont to Montreal Tour. The tour debuted in 2012 with great success, and went on to sell out in 2013. 2014 promises to be another amazing riding experience!
My first organized cycling tour and I enjoyed every mile. Great route, beautiful scenery, great group! It had its challenges but that was expected-some 3 hour climbs followed by 30 minute-40 mph descents!
It was fun to cycle across an international border flashing my passport at the drive through window. The ride into Canada through vast multicolored cropland was distinctly beautiful even in the rain. I would definitely do this again and we spent a few extra days in Montreal which was well worth doing. 300 miles on a bike- no problem, 3 days walking in Montreal and my feet were killing me!
(On the descent from Middlebury Gap) just remember to apply the brakes right after the sign “15 degree decline”! I tried to slow from 40+ to less than 20 but couldn’t and ended up having to bail on a steep curving descent and sustaining multiple fractures. The exhiliration of the descent has to be tempered, unfortunately! I will be back to tackle all on another trip with the spiritual lizards.
I had a BLAST! Everything was wonderful. There were a few small glitches, but I expected some since it was a new tour. I have no problem recommending next year’s ride to everyone I talk to.
Take Care,
Scott
Thank you for a great trip to Montreal. We had a blast and enjoyed meeting and getting to know a great group of people. We are looking forward to our next trip.
Best,
Patti & Todd
Thanks again for a great tour. It was interesting to part of “serial no. 1” and I had a great time. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, except for maybe the drizzle going into Montreal and the climbs were DEFINITELY challenging. I wish I had put on my 11-30 cassette. I thought the 6 gaps in Vermont were the centerpiece of the trip.
What a great trip! Quiet roads, beautiful scenery and seriously good riding. Cycling the Six Gaps of Vermont will test anyone’s legs. The inns chosen for the trip offered spacious and comfortable lodging as well as great food. Lizard Head did a terrific job of supporting the group on the road. I highly recommend this trip.
