Wyler Aerial Tramway & Aztec Caves Trail
A fantastic activity you don’t want to miss during your stay is a four-minute ride on the Wyler Aerial Tramway at Franklin Mountains state park. The scenic tramway will take you to the top of Ranger Peak at an elevation of 5.632ft above sea level. From the peak you can see three states in the 7,000 miles of terrain. Tram Ride: $8/person.
While you are visiting the Wyler Aerial Tramway, don’t forget to hike the Aztec Caves Trail, also at Franklin Mountains State Park. Make your way through desert canyons and washes until you reach the Aztec caves. Address: 1700 McKinley El Paso, TX 79930
El Paso Museum of Archaeology
Visit the El Paso Museum of Archaeology. The museum of Archaeology presents information about 14,000 years of prehistory of El Paso, the greater Southwest, and northern Mexico. Enjoy dioramas and exhibits of American Indian lives as well as artifacts from their material culture. Hiking trails are accessible right from the parking lot. Carlsbad Caverns National Park
Rent a car and visit the world famous Carlsbad Caverns National Park 145 miles northeast of El Paso. Carlsbad Caverns feature beautifully decorated caverns and 46,000+ wild desert acres to explore.
