• Private tours are itineraries that can either be run with a custom-made or standard itinerary. On private tours the group requests that no “outside” riders be allowed to join. The rider minimum on most private road tours is 9-riders or the paid equivalent.
• NOTE: Special tour discounts do not apply to private tours
• Custom tours are tours that are created and designed specifically for a group. Custom tours are opened to outside riders unless the group requests that the tour is private.

Led by one of our friendly, knowledgeable and easy-going guides, your group will tour the majestic National Parks of the American West, or climb the breathtaking Colorado Rockies… on your very own private or custom bike tour!

Each evening, you’ll savor a gourmet-quality meal, fit for the most discriminating palate, and enjoy a well-deserved beer or two. Sleep in remote desert lodges, campsites beneath the stars, or both.

It’s all up to you. Just give us your dates and ask us to create an itinerary.

And here’s one of the best things about this custom bike tour. You’ll experience a tech-free time where you can take a break from the stress and constant demands of your daily life. So will all of your traveling companions.

How Much Does it Cost?

The per person cost of our Private Tours is approximately $450- per/person/day. The rider minimum is 9 riders minimum or the paid equivalent.

• Custom Road Tours Includes: Lodging, meals, guide service, vehicle support, entrance fees, daily lunch en route, energy food, liquid refreshments, shuttles and mechanical support. Bike rental & massage therapy with one of our Licensed Massage Therapists is additional. Add-Ons such as massage therapy, scenic flights, celebrity cyclists, add to the cost of a tour.

The cost of a Custom MTB Tour is $250- per/person/day. The rider minimum is 8 riders minimum or the paid equivalent. NOTE: MTB tours can be lodge based in Crested Butte. Contact us for details.

• Custom MTB Tours Includes: Camping Rental (tent, pad & bag), all meals, guide service, support vehicle, entrance fees, daily lunch en route, energy food, liquid refreshments and mechanical support. Bike rental & massage therapy with one of our Licensed Massage Therapists is additional.

FYI – Many of Lizard Head Cycling’s custom road and mountain bike tours center around Gateway Canyons Resort. John Hendriks, owner of the Discovery Channel, built this luxurious oasis in a sublime desert setting. In addition to cycling, activities include an equestrian center, spa, rafting, fly-fishing, helicopter and fixed winged flights.
