Wilderness is not a luxury but a necessity of the human spirit. – Edward Abbey
Wilderness. The Hayduke Trail certainly defines the meaning of wilderness as an 812-mile backpacking route through some of the southwest’s most rugged and remote terrain from Zion National Park, a dip into Northern Arizona along the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, through Bryce Canyon and Capital Reef National Parks, over the newly designated Bear’s Ears National Monument, across Canyonlands National Park and finally to Arches National Park near Moab, Utah.
In 2016, Lizard Head Cycling Guides created an off-road cycling adventure of epic scale through many of these vast desert expanses along a portion of the Hayduke Trail. While we only follow approximately 420 miles of the Hayduke Trail through southern Utah during our two-week quest, this is a back country cycling odyssey like no other and one you will soon not forget.
You will be in awe at the beauty of the immense openness of the high desert of southern Utah – watch the sunrise in the cool mornings with a warm cup of coffee, enjoy the challenging off-road terrain during the warm days, savor delicious and nutritious gourmet meals in the evenings, toast to good friends around the campfire at sunset, and then marvel at the deep, dark skies at night – this is a 14-day journey that will nourish your body, spirit, and soul.
We welcome you to join us for one of our spring or autumn Hayduke Trail MTB Tours and experience a cycling tour of a lifetime!
