COVID-19 Operating Plan

Lizard Head Cycling Guides COVID-19 Operating Plan as of February 1, 2022.

Here is our latest COVID operating plan. All of our guide crew have been vaccinated.

  • Guiding is, at its core, about assessing and minimizing potential risk. Out of an abundance of caution, Lizard Head Cycling is asking our clients to be vaccinated. We have made this decision after consulting with our guide staff, guests, and doctors. We believe this decision will minimize risk to both our guide staff and clients. Lizard Head Cycling aims to keep both its clients and guides safe while reducing the workload of our healthcare workers.
  • Non-Vaccinated Guests: If you are under the age of 12 or have a health reason that would allow you to physically cycle, but not be vaccinated, we will require a COVID test 72-hours prior to tour departure. This test can be a Rapid or PCR test.
  • Please let us know what your vaccination status will be prior to the trip.
  • During travel to our tours, we ask guests to avoid high risk COVID areas and wear a mask when physical distancing is not possible (indoors, airlines, etc…)
  • If you develop COVID symptoms prior to the trip, please contact us and we’ll reschedule you. We will not accept anyone on our trips who displays symptoms at the pre-trip meeting.

COVID-19 Protocols while on Lizard Head Cycling Guides Tours

  • There are masked zones while on tour – group shuttles, federal buildings, and as required within public buildings. While driving, we keep the air fresh with windows and vents opened.
  • We are continuing to eat outside whenever the option is possible and preparing delicious meals in our outdoor kitchen.
  • We will provide hand washing stations and make other cleaning supplies readily available to clients at camp, on the road, and while on the trail.
  • If you are feeling ill, it is your responsibility to inform the guides. The guides will help you isolate at a hotel.
